Created in 1991, Eurogroup manages over 50 sites in France and Spain, with almost 25,000 tourist beds in holiday complexes including villas with private pools, luxury ski chalets, apartments in 3 and 4-star residential complexes and 2, 3 and 4-star hotels. As a rough guide, 45,000 weeks were rented out in 2006.
OUR MARKETING ASSIGNMENT
The management company’s main objective is to rent out the accommodation. In order to achieve this, the marketing policy has to be dynamic and is orientated towards two distinct markets, each necessitating a different approach :
directly-targeted clientele
We market to this client group, on a national and international basis, by way of our website www.eurogroup-vacances.com, advertising in the media, which includes tourist guides, magazines and on-line advertising, events (trade shows and exhibitions), partnerships with the Tourist Information Centres, mail shots – by post and e-mail, and, a major source of reservations, by word of mouth. This leads to a growing and loyal clientele.
Clientèle via trade
Working closely with a network of tour operators, travel agencies, groups organisers, holiday websites and the well known French ‘comité d’entreprises’ who organise holidays for company staff, our holiday destinations are marketed by the negotiation of allotment contracts with these partners. Our most important partners for the summer, operating throughout Europe, are as follows: in France, Voyages Loisirs, Thomas Cook, Locatour and Vacances Carrefour ; in Belgium, Thomas Cook ; in Germany, Wolters Reisen and Interchalet ; in the UK, Brittany Ferries, French Life, Cresta and Wake up in France, in the Netherlands, Vrij Uit, TUI and OAD ; and Travel Horizon, Locasun and Expedia for internet sales.
THE OPERATIONS
At each site, a reception office and management team are responsible for organising the stays of both rental clients and owners. Their work consists of the preparation for arrivals, handing over the keys, carrying out inventories when clients leave, collecting monies due for holiday rentals, organising the cleaning and so on. Naturally, they are also responsible for maintaining a good and close relationship with the owners of the properties they look after. A regional management team supports the staff on site, and the reservations call centre, marketing team and administrative services ensure all the ‘behind the scenes’ tasks and sales.
SERVICES OFFERED
We offer to all rental clients and owners the standard and minimal holiday let services, that is to say, reception facilities, cleaning services and the possibility of linen rental. However, to offer more than this minimal service, and not simply rent “square metres” of space, Eurogroup offer additional services to meet clients’ needs, which can include : bakery services, launderette facilities, television and bicycle rental, family and children’s activities, tourist information and so on.
